I was talking to a friend yesterday about real estate. He’s moving to Calgary to pursue a job opportunity and was wondering if he should sell his house here, or rent it out. What sort of house should he buy in Calgary? What is the Calgary market doing? The Kelowna market?
All these questions are wrapped up in tactical real estate. It only deals with the present; only one part of the picture. What I’m going to help my friend do is try to look strategically at his life. We’ll develop a long term wealth building strategy, and see how that integrates with his real estate portfolio and possible avenues for growing it in the future while planning for risks.
