When you head off to university or college, that’s usually a big enough change. Buying a house is just too much to contemplate. Staying in residence is the easy choice because everything it taken care of and you’re on campus already. Renting an apartment is the obvious runner up, and sharing a place is the default choice for the majority of students who don’t live at home. But a surprising number of students, with help from parents or family, are taking matters into their own hands and buying their first home.
