Miles Davis – So What (1964)

During jr high and high school I played a lot of music. Lots of classical and lots of jazz with a whole lot of everything else mixed in. (I’m a percussionist) I very nearly studies music in university rather than science, and I still play a fair bit. (More often when I live in Edmonton)

However, Jazz is a love close to my heart, and Miles’ music has always has a special place. Most people who have played in a jazz combo have played lots of his charts, and I couldn’t count the number of times I’ve played So What. Gotta tell you, never played it quite this fast though….but then again I’ve never been Tony Williams and we never had a bass player like Ron Carter.

Anyways, enjoy your weekend! I’m in Chicago right now, then Edmonton for the weekend and then back to Kelowna on Monday!
